Paul De Chomedey De Maisonneuve, After A 10 Day Journey Up The St. Lawrence River From Quebec, Came Ashore On May 18, 1642, To Establish A Religious Colony At Ville Marie (Later To Become Montreal). Those Present With Him Were Governor De Montmagny; A Number Of Jesuits; Jeanne Mance, Canada'S First Nurse And Hospital Builder; Madame De La Peltrie Of The Ursulines; And Soldiers.
